Barcelona - Fragments of Light and Habits

Barcelona never lets itself be captured in a single glance. In this series, it moves through contrasts: the softness of the morning, the tension of the streets, suspended gestures. I found a city that is alive, but above all human in its routines and its small daily choreographies. Here, everything is rhythm: the stride of joggers facing the sea, a sheet shaken out on a balcony like a domestic banner. In Barcelona, I wasn’t looking for the spectacular, but for that banality which, under the right light, suddenly becomes a scene.

Watching what flows.

Barcelona is a city of flows: the circulation of bodies, shadows, colors. You move from a makeshift playground to the elegance of a modernist façade in a single step. What struck me was the way people cross through the scenery. The white lines of the crosswalks become metronomes. The sidewalks fill with simple gestures: walking, waiting, photographing.

Photographing presence.

I became drawn to discreet, sometimes unexpected presences: a lone passerby absorbed in their own trajectory, gazes that meet nothing but their own direction. Here, light is an ally. It underlines the volumes, cuts out the silhouettes, without ever fully freezing them.

The ordinary, differently.

This series is an immersion in permanent movement. Barcelona taught me to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, to capture what vibrates between two moments of urban silence.
