Namur - The Confluence of Time

Namur is defined by its meeting with water. Nestled at the confluence of the Meuse and the Sambre, it has a peaceful, misty atmosphere that invites wandering. This street photography series captures a city of passage and anchoring.

The rhythm of water.

The presence of the rivers dictates the tempo of the city. I sought to capture the reflections, the deserted quays in the early morning, and the silhouettes that follow the riverbanks. There is a gentle melancholy here, typically Belgian, which I wanted to convey through diffuse plays of light and often horizontal framing, echoing the surface of the water.

The intimacy of old stones.

In the historic center, the narrow streets offer more tightly framed scenes of life. There I photographed the daily life of the people of Namur, far from any metropolitan bustle. Each image is an attempt to capture the soul of a city that reveals itself with modesty, between the shadow cast by the rock and the clarity of the medieval squares.

A timeless stroll.

This series is a timeless stroll. Namur allowed me to explore a more poetic and atmospheric register, where the natural environment engages in constant dialogue with the stone.
