New York - Organized Chaos
New York is a constant assault on the senses. It's the street photography city par excellence, where every angle is a potential icon. For this series, I had to filter out that overload to find my own path through the crushing verticality and the relentless noise. It's a study in pure energy.
Light as a scalpel.
In Manhattan, light falls like a blade between the skyscrapers, creating contrasts of magnificent violence. I used these shafts of clarity to isolate individuals within the anonymous crowd. Photographing New York means hunting for these moments of absolute solitude at the heart of the most total chaos.
Perpetual motion.
Nothing here ever stands still. The yellow cabs, the subway steam, and the flow of pedestrians create a nervous choreography. My images try to capture that speed while searching for points of stillness: a gaze, a hand resting on a newspaper, a face lit by a reflection. It's a quest for the human within the excess.
Exhaustion and exhilaration.
New York is an experience of exhaustion and exhilaration. This series reflects my attempt to tame this urban monster and draw from it moments of graphic and emotional truth.
