San Francisco - Slopes and Fog

San Francisco imposes a unique physical setting. In this street photography series, I wandered through its neighborhoods seeking to capture this visual instability, between the fog that invades the streets and the bright sun of the bay. It's a city of textures and perspectives.

The city as a stage set.

Every street in San Francisco seems to come straight out of a film. I played with these cinematic references, using the cast shadows of the Victorian houses and the vanishing lines of the tramway cables. Photography here becomes an exploration of verticality, where one literally plunges into the image.

The changing atmosphere.

The city's climate transforms the light at every moment. I photographed the disappearance of shapes into the fog and their sudden reappearance under a harsh light. It was this impermanence that fascinated me: the idea that the city can change its face within minutes, moving from mystery to total clarity.

An uncertain horizon line.

This series is a journey through the changes in elevation. San Francisco taught me to frame boldly, accepting that the horizon line is never where you expect it.
