Trogir - The Island of Stone

Trogir is a small island-citadel where time seems to have crystallized. It's a dense, almost organic space, where every stone bears the mark of an ancient craftsmanship. In this street photography series, I sought to convey that density and the way Mediterranean light sculpts the volumes of churches and palaces.

The art of the tight frame.

Given the narrowness of the streets, I often chose tight frames, focusing on architectural details or plays of shadow in the vaulted passageways. Trogir is a city of textures: the roughness of the stone, the polish of the cobblestones underfoot, the aged wood of the doors. Every image is an invitation to touch with the eyes.

Island everyday life.

Despite its status as a protected site, Trogir remains a living, inhabited town. I photographed the calm moments, far from the bustle, when the town once again belongs to its residents. It's in these instants of silence that one best feels the soul of this stone city set upon the water.

A study in harmony.

This series is a study in harmony. Trogir offered me the perfect setting to explore the relationship between protective shadow and the intense light of the Dalmatian coast.
