Zagreb - The Charm of the Upper Town

Zagreb is a city of character that I explore through street photography, capturing the contrast between the nostalgia of the Upper Town (Gornji Grad) and the dynamism of the Lower Town. On one side, the silence of cobbled streets and gas lanterns; on the other, the buzz of terraces and markets.

Time suspended.

In the Upper Town, I sought to capture a village atmosphere at the heart of the capital. The shadows are longer there, the movements slower. I photographed scenes that seem to belong to another century, underscoring the permanence of these places. It's a space for visual meditation.

Urban vitality.

As soon as you head down toward Jelačić Square, the pace picks up. I captured the flow of blue trams, the colorful exchanges at Dolac market, and the energy of the crowd. My images try to reconcile these two faces of Zagreb, showing a complete city, both rooted in its history and firmly turned toward the future.

A capital on a human scale.

Photographing Zagreb means discovering a capital on a human scale. This series reflects my attachment to an authentic city that offers the eye an unsuspected richness of textures and feelings.
